Vivo X300 Pro 5G Challenges iPhone 17 with New File Sharing

Vivo is gearing up to launch its X300 Pro 5G smartphone, and it’s bringing a feature that could give Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 a run for its money.

Set to hit the market in the coming months, this flagship phone introduces a new way to share files that works a lot like Apple’s AirDrop, aiming to make life easier for users who switch between Android and Apple devices.

The standout feature is Vivo’s wireless file-sharing system, built into the new Origin OS 6, which runs on Android 16. This system lets you send photos, videos, and other files between Vivo phones and Apple devices, like iPhones, iPads, and Macs, without needing cables or third-party apps.

All it takes is signing into a Vivo account on both devices. “The X300 phones will let users share files wirelessly with both Vivo and Apple devices,” a Vivo spokesperson said, highlighting how this could make things smoother for people using different types of gadgets.

This is a giant step as it places Apple in a situation where its tightly controlled ecosystem is threatened. As the iPhone 17 series (which will feature presumably the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and an elegant Air) are likely to have powerful A19 chips and some sophisticated AI, Vivo is hoping that its file-sharing capability will appeal to consumers wanting a more versatile phone. The X300 Pro could appeal to those tired of being locked into one brand’s world.

Beyond file sharing, the X300 Pro is a powerhouse. It’s powered by MediaTek’s top-tier Dimensity 9500 processor, perfect for gaming, multitasking, and AI tasks. Its camera system, developed with ZEISS, includes a stunning 200MP telephoto lens using Samsung’s HPB sensor, paired with Vivo’s advanced imaging tech for incredible photos and videos, even in low light.

The X300 series, including the standard X300 and Pro models, is expected to launch soon, with a possible “ultra” version in 2026. Priced around $800–$1,000, it’s a strong contender in the premium market. Vivo’s bold step could shake things up, especially in places like Asia, where cross-platform sharing is a big need.
