Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won big with a 110-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Arun Jaitley Stadium during the 68th match in the IPL 2025. Thanks to Heinrich Klaasen’s amazing 105 not out, SRH managed to win against KKR after five straight defeats, putting an impressive finish to this game. SRH made 278 for 3, which was the third most runs scored by a team in the IPL.

Key Highlights:

  • Heinrich Klaasen’s blistering 105 powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to 278/3, the third-highest IPL total ever
  • SRH crushed KKR by 110 runs, with bowlers Unadkat, Dubey, and Malinga each taking three wickets in a total collapse
  • Eshan Malinga’s breakout season continued as SRH ended their campaign on a high, while KKR missed playoffs with their worst defeat of the year

After SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat, the team came out swinging on a pitch that was a batter’s dream. Travis Head set the stage with a blazing 76 off 40 balls, and Abhishek Sharma kept the scoreboard ticking with a quick 32 off 16. Then came Klaasen, who went on a rampage, hammering nine sixes and seven fours in one of the fastest IPL hundreds ever. KKR’s bowlers had no answer, though Sunil Narine (2/42) tried to stem the tide.

Chasing a huge 279, KKR’s batting collapsed like a house of cards. SRH’s bowlers, led by Jaydev Unadkat (3/24), Harsh Dubey (3/34), and rising star Eshan Malinga (3/31), tore through the lineup. KKR limped to 168 in 18.4 overs, with only Manish Pandey (37) and Harshit Rana (34) showing some grit. Despite Narine’s early heroics, KKR crumbled to their worst loss in the tournament.

The win pushed SRH to sixth in the points table, while KKR slid to eighth. Cummins was thrilled with his team’s aggressive batting, while KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane admitted their middle order struggled to keep up. Both teams, last year’s finalists, missed the playoffs this season after up-and-down campaigns.

Eshan Malinga, with 10 wickets in six matches, looks like a future star for SRH. KKR, on the other hand, need to sort out their middle order, which had the slowest scoring rate in overs 7-16 this season. SRH’s dominant performance gave their fans a thrilling end to the campaign as they look ahead to IPL 2026.
