KKR Crush SRH by 80 Runs in IPL 2025 Clash at Eden Gardens
Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad with an 80-run difference in their IPL 2025 match at Eden Gardens on April 3. The defending champs displayed strong batting and bowling performances to boost their fan base while their standings improved from the bottom. SRH continued their losing ways on April 3 as their batting folded for the third time in a row, keeping them in eighth position.
KKR’s captain, Ajinkya Rahane, decided to bat first after SRH’s Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl. KKR made the most of it, scoring a solid 200/6 in their 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were the stars, with Iyer hitting 60 off 29 balls and Raghuvanshi making 50 off 32. KKR set a tough target of 201. The Eden Gardens pitch had been criticized before for not helping spinners much, but it seemed pretty fair today, though KKR’s batsmen made it look easy.
SRH started their chase with some hope, but things fell apart fast against KKR’s bowlers. Vaibhav Arora (3/29) and Varun Chakravarthy (3/22) ripped through the top order, leaving SRH at 75/6. Heinrich Klaasen tried to fight back with a quick 33 off 21, smashing two sixes in a row off Sunil Narine, but he couldn’t do it alone. Andre Russell finished things off by getting Harshal Patel out, and SRH was all out for 120 in 16.4 overs. Arora’s brilliant bowling earned him the Player of the Match award.
KKR have now beaten SRH 19 times in 28 matches, and this win showed why they’re so strong at home. The weather in Kolkata was warm, with no rain to interrupt the game, giving fans a great night of cricket. SRH’s bold batting approach didn’t work again, landing them at the bottom of the table. This was KKR’s second win of the season, a big boost after a rough start. With players like Rinku Singh and Moeen Ali in the lineup, they’re looking strong. SRH, though, has a tough road ahead to get back on track.
