redBus Launches Rs 299 Discover Bharat Sale to Drive Local Travel
redBus has launched its Discover Bharat Sale, offering bus tickets starting at ₹299 along with discounts of up to 50 percent on buses, trains, and hotels.
The campaign is aimed at boosting domestic travel in India during the upcoming festive season, long weekends, and holiday breaks, with a focus on affordable travel offers and short-haul journeys across the country.
The initiative positions budget bus travel as a practical option for exploring nearby destinations, smaller towns, and culturally significant routes.
By lowering entry-level fares, redBus is targeting price-sensitive travellers, including students, families, and first-time explorers, while also encouraging repeat journeys among existing users.

The campaign follows a region-first marketing strategy. Advertisements are produced in multiple Indian languages and reflect local settings, accents, and travel habits. The films are being rolled out across television and digital platforms such as JioHotstar, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels to reach both urban and semi-urban audiences, strengthening visibility for Indian travel destinations.
One set of films, titled “Pata Karke Aao,” is set in everyday environments like bus stops, hostels, and neighbourhood hangouts. Characters exchange practical travel tips about nearby destinations before highlighting the ₹299 starting fare. The storytelling relies on familiar situations and local references, reinforcing the appeal of local journeys in India over long-distance or high-cost trips.
Another creative route, “Bharat Mein Videshi,” draws attention to Indian locations that visually resemble popular international spots. The films begin by suggesting overseas travel before revealing that the locations are within India, reinforcing the idea that global-style experiences can be accessed through low-cost travel deals without leaving the country.
According to Pallavi Chopra, the campaign is aligned with peak travel demand and aims to encourage travellers to rediscover the country through festival travel offers and value-driven pricing. She said the focus is on simplifying travel planning while making it more economical.
