The Indian Performing Right Society Ltd. (IPRS) and SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada) just finished KOLAB 2025, an exciting songwriting camp held from August 23–29 at The True School of Music on Vijaybhoomi University’s campus in Karjat.

Coinciding with IPRS’s 56th anniversary, this week-long event brought together 22 artists from India and Canada, who created over 56 original songs, mixing languages, cultures, and musical styles.

The camp featured well-known Canadian artists like Tesher, Jonita Gandhi, Mitika, JP47, Mad Mix, Zafar Sandhu, and Revay, working side-by-side with Indian talents such as Jassi X, Mellow D, Sweetaj Brar, Josh Brar, Jeevana, and Durba Banerjee.

Held in the peaceful Jamrung Valley, KOLAB 2025 wasn’t just about making music. The artists also talked about reaching global listeners, navigating streaming platforms, and ensuring fair practices in the music industry.
