Over the past year, Spotify has been diving into new ventures, from audiobooks to video podcasts with top influencers and creators. Now, the platform is reportedly developing a premium plan called “Music Pro,” which could offer more than just higher-quality audio. According to reports, Music Pro may include exclusive AI-powered features like remixing tools and even access to concert tickets.

The AI mixing tool lets users blend tracks from different artists to create custom mixes, according to Android Authority. Bloomberg also reported that Spotify's Music Pro tier could cost up to $5.99 (approximately Rs 520) on top of existing subscriptions. However, prices may vary as the company negotiates rights and royalties with artists and music labels.

Similar to its current subscription plans, Spotify is expected to offer Music Pro at lower prices in certain countries. In the US, Spotify Premium is priced at $11.99 (approximately Rs 1,040) per month, while in India, a monthly subscription currently costs Rs 119.

Besides, Spotify is currently in talks with some of the major promoters, ticket sellers, and labels to provide concert ticketing services eventually, such as presales and VIP tickets, under its Music Pro plan.

It's worth noting that Spotify will not be the first streaming company to provide lossless audio, as rival music services Tidal and Apple Music already offer Hi-Res lossless streaming. But Spotify consumers will have to wait until toward the end of this year for the new "Music Pro" tier. Despite reports that indicate the feature is in the making, Spotify remains silent on firm details such as pricing and rollout dates.

Spotify has shelved analysis and goes about setting this super-premium level in action for years now. It is one of the biggest shifts in its business model. While historically, Spotify has maintained uniform pricing across major markets, it is now looking to offer a differentiated product line to gain maximum traction with many more customers. With growth now slowing in major markets like the US, this move is designed to attract more customers by pushing premium-only features and more advanced subscription tiers.
