India Ends Cannes Lions 2026 With Five Metals

By Media Infotainment Team | Saturday, 27 June 2026

India concluded its campaign at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026 with just five metals - two Silver and three Bronze - marking a steep decline from the 32 awards won in 2025. The country failed to secure a single Gold or Grand Prix this year, highlighting a subdued performance at one of the world's most prestigious advertising festivals.

India’s Medal Tally Falls Sharply

The Indian contingent finished the festival with:

Medal Winners
Silver (2) Leo India, Brand David
Bronze (3) Ogilvy, Humour Me, TBWA\Lintas
Gold None
Grand Prix None

The result marks a significant reversal from 2025, when India returned with 32 metals, including multiple Golds and a Grand Prix.

Key Award-Winning Campaigns

India opened the festival strongly on Day 1 before momentum faded over the remaining days.

  • Leo India won a Silver Lion in the Audio & Radio category for "The Unofficial Official Sound of F1" created for Sting Energy Drink.
  • Brand David secured a Silver Lion in Health & Wellness for Colgate-Palmolive's "Indianis Dentris."
  • Ogilvy earned a Bronze Lion for "Renu vs The City" for St. Jude India ChildCare Centres.
  • Humour Me received a Bronze Lion in the Pharma category for Tata 1mg's "Sawaal Uthao."
  • TBWA\Lintas added the final Bronze Lion in Film Craft for "Don't Look Up" created for Steadfast's Fake Money Detector.

Strong Start, Quiet Finish

India secured four metals on the opening day and added one Bronze on Day 2. However, the country failed to win any awards during the final three days of the festival, leaving its medal tally unchanged at five.

Industry Watches for a Stronger Comeback

The 2026 results reflect a challenging year for India's advertising industry on the global stage. While several agencies delivered award-winning campaigns, the absence of Golds and the sharp decline in total medals compared to last year have intensified discussions around India's international creative competitiveness ahead of the 2027 edition.
