Suriya's 'Karuppu' Teaser Unveils a Fierce Dual Role, Pays Homage to 'Ghajini'

Tamil cinema icon Suriya marked his 50th birthday by releasing the thrilling teaser for his upcoming movie Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji.

Dropped under Dream Warrior Pictures, the teaser has taken social media by storm, showing Suriya in a powerful dual role as Saravanan, a lawyer by day, and a vigilante channeling the fierce deity Karuppu Samy by night.

Set for a Diwali 2025 release, the film promises a mix of action, drama, and cultural depth that’s got fans buzzing.

The teaser kicks off with lively shots of a village festival, paired with a voiceover praising the deity Karuppu, known for delivering swift justice.

Suriya’s shift from a sharp-suited lawyer to a rugged, machete-wielding figure in a rural setting is intense and gripping.  Fans got a special treat with a nod to Suriya’s 2005 hit Ghajini, as the teaser recreates the famous watermelon scene, sparking waves of nostalgia.
