Range Rover Unveils New Logo After 55 Years
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) just unveiled a new logo for its Range Rover brand, the first update since the luxury SUV line hit the scene in 1970. Shown off at a recent investor event, the redesigned emblem features two simple, widely spaced "R"s—one on top, the other flipped upside down—giving it a clean, modern vibe.
This change is part of JLR’s “House of Brands” plan, which sets Range Rover apart as its own luxury nameplate alongside Jaguar, Defender, and Discovery.
The new logo, called the “Range Rover Motif,” won’t replace the classic “Range Rover” script you see on the front and back of the vehicles. Instead, it’s a compact symbol for places where the full wordmark doesn’t fit, like on labels, interior designs, or event signage.
Alongside it comes a cool checkered “Range Rover Pattern” that weaves in the double-R design. You might spot this pattern on seat upholstery, grilles, or special-edition models, adding a touch of class to the brand’s high-end look.

This rebrand comes as Range Rover gears up for its first fully electric SUV, expected to roll out later in 2025. With over 60,000 people already on the waitlist, the electric model is set to be a big deal, packing over 540 horsepower with a dual-motor setup. The updated logo and pattern are meant to boost Range Rover’s luxury appeal as it steps into the premium electric vehicle market.
JLR’s bigger plan is to make each of its brands stand out. While Jaguar goes all-in on sleek, electric luxury, Range Rover is doubling down on top-tier comfort and cutting-edge tech. The Land Rover name will still act as a “trust mark” for shared tech and off-road grit across JLR’s SUVs, but it won’t overshadow Range Rover’s unique identity anymore.
