Battle of words on X platform over OLA Electric's Service

Comedian Kunal Kamra has sparked more controversy on X by jokingly 'accepting' a job offer from Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, but only under certain conditions. This comes after Kamra criticized the electric vehicle manufacturer for its customer service and unsuccessful EV scooters.

On Monday, the comedian outlined a list of demands to "seal this collaboration." In the now-viral post, Kamra insisted that Ola Electric address the service crisis and guarantee that all EV scooter repairs are completed within seven business days.

“For repairs extending beyond this period, customers will first receive either a temporary replacement scooter or daily conveyance reimbursement of Rs. 500 until the repair is completed. Additionally, customers will earn Rs. 500 per delayed day (up to Rs. 50,000). Every new OLA electric scooter must be sold with two insurances—one for the scooter and one for their services (service insurance should be free for the customer),” Kamra demanded.

Tagging Aggarwal to his post, the comedian wrote, “I have no choice but to accept bhash’s offer to work with OLA… After being tagged thousands of times I anyway feel like I am an OLA employee. OLA can seal this collaboration by committing to the below action points & looking forward to joining.”

Earlier this month, Kamra tagged Union Minister Nithin Gadkari and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs on X, commenting on the service issues related to Ola Electric’s S1 series of EV scooters. He also encouraged users to share their driving experiences in the comments section.

Reacting to it, Ola CEO Aggarwal took a poke at the comedian to join his team as his career in comedy “failed”. He wrote “Since you care so much Kunal Kamra, come and help us out! I'll even pay more than you earned for this paid tweet or from your failed comedy career. Or else sit quietly and let us focus on fixing the issues for the real customers. We're expanding the service network fast and backlogs will be cleared soon.”

Last week, Ola Electric’s Chief financial Officer Harish Abhichandani, said 99 per cent of the complaints have been resolved according to customers' needs, “ complete satisfaction of the customer as per Ola Electric’s comprehensive redressal mechanism”.
