Mezcalita Brings Agave, Energy & Edge to Monkey Bar

On Friday, July 25thMezcalita, Mumbai’s agave-first cocktail bar, takes over Monkey Bar on Museum Road for a one-night-only collaboration in celebration of all things tequila, mezcal, and Mexico’s rich drinking culture. It’s spirited, social, and just in time for World Tequila Day.

At the heart of the evening are Sachin Yadav and Aamod Dangre, Head Bartenders at Mezcalita, who bring their passion for agave spirits — and a few house secrets — to the Monkey Bar counter. Their pop-up is equal parts education and experimentation: a deep dive into agave culture, with drinks that push boundaries but feel right at home.

The Cocktails: Familiar Spirits, Unexpected Twists

For this special takeover, Mezcalita presents a bespoke cocktail menu that’s playful, progressive, and rooted in flavour-forward storytelling. Expect creations like the Cha Chinga, a bold refresher built on tequila, charred cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro and lime — smoky, spicy and just the right amount of green. Tahona blends tequila with green apple, yuzu, orange liqueur and a delicate macaron finish for a citrusy-sweet surprise. Mango Manilla is bright and juicy — a splash of tequila, mango, grapefruit, citrus and fizzy mango seltzer. For something fruit-forward and polished, Noche Beso offers a clarified mix of tequila, peach, mint, blackcurrant liqueur and lime. And then there’s Oaxaca Calling, a smoky, tangy blend of tequila, mezcal, house-made lychee seltzer and a cheeky nod to childhood with a sour candy twist.

Each drink is designed to start a conversation — about the spirit, the flavour, or the idea behind it. And that’s really what the night is about: shared curiosity and a good time over great drinks.
