Mercedes-Benz Turns New CLA into Mobile Office with Teams, Intune Integration

By Media Infotainment Team | Thursday, 31 July 2025

Mercedes-Benz is teaming up with Microsoft to bring workplace tools right into its cars, starting with the new CLA compact luxury sedan, launching in early 2026.

This partnership weaves Microsoft Teams, Intune, and 365 Copilot into the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), aiming to make driving time more productive for professionals.

The upgraded Microsoft Teams app lets drivers hop on video calls using the car’s built-in camera, even while on the road—a first for any carmaker.

To keep things safe, the system blocks incoming video and shared screens when the car is moving, showing only audio and basic controls. This follows local laws against distracted driving, and drivers can switch off the camera if needed.

A handy dashboard feature shows upcoming meetings, quick-dials contacts, and lets you send messages by voice to stay focused.

With Microsoft Intune baked into MB.OS, the car becomes a secure hub for work. Drivers can log into their business accounts and easily switch between personal and work apps. Intune keeps work data separate and lets IT teams control access and security, much like a company phone. This powers apps like MBUX Notes and Calendar, helping drivers stay on top of their tasks.

Mercedes-Benz is also working with Microsoft to add 365 Copilot, an AI assistant that uses voice commands to summarize emails, pull up client details, or manage to-do lists, turning the car into a “third workplace” alongside home and office.

The features kick off this summer with the MB.OS-powered MBUX system in the CLA, but you’ll need an Entertainment Package Plus and a data plan. While some folks are excited about getting work done on the go, others on X are worried about blurring the line between work and life or getting distracted.

Mercedes-Benz is clearly pushing the boundaries of what a car can do, but it’ll need to keep safety first to make this a win.
