Maluma Pauses Mexico City Show to Talk About Keeping Kids Safe

Maluma, the Colombian music star stunned the crowd at his Pretty Dirty World Tour concert in Mexico City recently by halting his musical performance at the Palacio de los Deportes to address a mom in the audience directly.

The 31 year old singer realized that she had brought one-year-old infant to the show with no ear protection and thus she decided to comment on it, on the spot. The incident was recorded on video, and it has since gone viral, earning more than 12 million views.

Right in the middle of his set, Maluma paused to talk to the mother, keeping it real but respectful.

“With all due respect… how old are they? A year old? Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f–king high?” he said, emphasizing the potential harm of loud music on a child’s hearing. “That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real,” he added, urging the mother to protect the child’s ears in the future. Maluma, a father himself, spoke from personal experience, stating, “I would never bring them to a concert. Be a bit more aware.”
