JioHotstar Marks India's 79th Independence Day with 'Operation Tiranga'

JioHotstar will launch a special campaign, Operation Tiranga, a celebration full of storytelling to mark the 79 th anniversary of India independence.

The entire platform will be free to access on August 15, 2025, when everyone can be immersed in an ocean of films, with the central theme of The Flag is One, the Stories are Many: Tiranga Ek, Kahaniyaan Anek.

The promotion comes with a selected collection of films that connote bravery, self-sacrifice, and cultural priding. Take Off, Madras Cafe, and IB71 are some films which portray courage, which is saffron of the flag.

Stories of endurance, sacrifice, like Salakaar, Neerja, and Mangal Pandey: The Rising represent the white. In the meantime, the green burst in films such as Sarzameen, Kesari 2 and Airlift that glorify India and its rich heritage.

All these films pay tribute to the various narratives that constitute the identity of India.

When you log in, you’ll be greeted with a vibrant splash screen showcasing India’s colors and spirit. Minakshi Achan, JioHotstar’s head of brand and creative, shared, “Operation Tiranga celebrates the freedom to choose and connect with stories that capture India’s courage and identity. By removing access barriers, we invite everyone to join this tribute to our nation.”

The campaign goes beyond streaming, with ads on TV, eye-catching outdoor displays, and posts across social media. JioHotstar is also teaming up with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to spread awareness about flag etiquette, mixing entertainment with a touch of education.
