The highly anticipated anime film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle is rewriting box office history in India, becoming the first anime film to feature 5 AM screenings due to unprecedented demand.

Set to hit theaters on September 13, the movie has already made history with its advance ticket sales, which kicked off on September 5.

Reports say over 100,000 tickets have been snapped up, raking in close to ₹15 crore in pre-sales—a huge feat for a non-Hollywood foreign film in India.

The Japanese 2D IMAX version is especially popular, with many shows sold out or nearly full. Big theater chains like PVR, which sold 25,000 tickets, and Cinepolis, with 6,000, are seeing a flood of bookings. BookMyShow even reported 65,000 tickets sold in just one day!

To keep up with the excitement, theaters in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru have added early morning shows, with Inox Megaplex in Pune starting at 5:15 AM and Cinepolis Seawoods in Navi Mumbai at 5:20 AM.
