Dashverse Launches India's First Fully AI-Generated Microdrama
Bengaluru-based startup Dashverse has broken new ground with Raftaar, India’s first microdrama series created entirely using artificial intelligence.
The 90-minute series, produced through Dashverse’s Frameo. AI platform, has cut production time by half and costs by 75% compared to traditional methods, marking a game-changer for content creators. Launched on the DashReels app, Raftaar racked up over 1 million views in just 15 days, with an impressive 75% completion rate, far above the norm for short-form videos.
Raftaar tells the story of Raj, a racing champion facing betrayal and seeking redemption across 45 gripping episodes. While human writers shaped the plot, Frameo.AI handled everything else—scriptwriting, visuals, lighting, camera angles, and even lifelike character expressions that often surprised the creative team. “Frameo.AI isn’t just a tool; it’s like having a creative partner,” said Soumyadeep Mukherjee, Dashverse’s Co-Founder and CTO. “It lets creators experiment quickly and bring bold ideas to life.”

The series taps into the rising popularity of microdramas—short, emotional videos perfect for mobile viewers. Dashverse plans to release 100 more AI-generated microdramas by the end of the year. The DashReels app, with over 10 million downloads, earned $2 million in August through its subscription model, priced at Rs 399 for three months of ad-free viewing.

Founded in 2023 by Sanidhya Narain, Lalith Gudipati, and Soumyadeep Mukherjee, Dashverse recently raised $13 million in Series A funding from Peak XV Partners, Z47, and Stellaris Venture Partners. The funds will boost Frameo.AI and support creators with subsidies, making video production more accessible. “We’re tearing down barriers and helping creators earn a living,” said Narain, Dashverse’s CEO. As microdramas capture India’s attention, Dashverse is leading the charge in this AI-powered entertainment revolution.
