Chelsea Stuns PSG to Win FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Chelsea Football Club delivered a masterclass, defeating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 to claim the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 title on July 13 at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
A roaring crowd of 82,500 witnessed Chelsea’s second Club World Cup triumph, following their 2021 victory. Cole Palmer stole the show, scoring two goals in the first half and setting up the third. His first came in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a mistake by PSG’s left-back Nuno Mendes.
Eight minutes later, Palmer struck again with a brilliant finish, leaving PSG stunned. Just before halftime, Joao Pedro, Chelsea’s recent signing from Brighton, sealed the rout with a stunning chip, assisted by Palmer.
PSG, despite boasting stars like Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, couldn’t find their footing. Their hopes faded further when Joao Neves was sent off for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, leaving them with 10 players. Chelsea’s defense, anchored by Levi Colwill and goalkeeper Robert Sánchez, held firm, limiting PSG to just three shots on target.
