Battlefield 6 Closed Beta to Kick Off with Server Browser and Custom Servers

EA and DICE just dropped some exciting news for Battlefield 6 fans. The closed beta, part of the Battlefield Labs program, is gearing up to test the much-awaited server browser and player-owned server features through the Battlefield Portal.

This comes after the open beta smashed records, pulling in more players on Steam than Call of Duty. The closed beta, happening before the game’s big launch on October 10, 2025, will focus on fine-tuning gameplay and server features based on what players have to say.

The Battlefield Portal’s server browser will let players jump into official Conquest matches using shortcodes or create their own custom servers. You’ll be able to tweak things like server descriptions, map rotations, and tags.

DICE is working to make the setup smooth and the interface user-friendly, responding to fans who’ve been clamoring for the kind of server browser seen in classics like Battlefield 3 and 4. That said, it’s still a work in progress, and DICE is eager to hear player feedback to make it even better.

  • Battlefield 6 closed beta launches with server browser, custom servers, and new maps
  • EA and DICE test Battlefield 6 features in Battlefield Labs ahead of October 2025 release
  • Battlefield 6 beta adds Operation Firestorm, Mirak Valley, and community-driven servers

The closed beta will also roll out two new maps: Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley. These are built for the full Battlefield experience, with vehicles like quad bikes, tanks, and jets. After some players felt the open beta’s smaller, infantry-heavy maps like Siege of Cairo didn’t quite capture the series’ epic scale, these larger maps aim to bring back that classic chaos. DICE is using the beta to ensure the gameplay feels balanced and ready for launch.
