Apollo Tyres Signs Rs 579 Cr Jersey Deal with Team India
Apollo Tyres has clinched the prestigious jersey sponsorship for the Indian cricket team, signing a landmark deal worth Rs 579.06 crore that will run until 2027.
The agreement, sealed on September 16, will see the company’s logo on the team’s jerseys until 2027, covering around 130 matches, including 121 bilateral games and 20 ICC tournaments. Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 4.5 crore per bilateral match and Rs 1.72 crore for each ICC game, topping the Rs 4 crore per bilateral game paid by the previous sponsor, Dream11.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) kicked off the bidding process on September 2, inviting companies to compete for the team’s lead sponsor rights. Apollo Tyres faced stiff competition from Canva and JK Cement, whose bids were valued at Rs 554.48 crore and Rs 477.7 crore, respectively.
Birla Optus Paints showed interest but decided not to join the bidding war. The BCCI set clear rules, blocking industries like gaming, betting, crypto, tobacco, sportswear, banking, and non-alcoholic beverage brands from participating.

The decision of Dream11 to withdraw led to the necessity of a new sponsor because the government passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025, which severely affected the company operations. Because of this, the Indian team is now playing its Asian Cup 2025 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi without a jersey sponsor.

This mega transaction illustrates the immense commercial attraction of Indian cricket which is one of the most popular sports in the world. Fans will soon enjoy the Apollo Tyres logo on the team jerseys, and this is a bold new beginning to the Indian cricket story of sponsorship.
