PSG's Historic 2025 UEFA Champions League Triumph

On May 31, 2025, PSG made history in the sport by claiming their first-ever UEFA Champions League title after a strong 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in Munich on the Allianz Arena. As a result, PSG became the second French club to lift Europe’s most important club trophy, after Marseille in 1993, and won the first continental treble of their history, with Ligue 1 and Coupe de France already secured that season.

A Journey to Glory

The team’s success leading to the 2025 Champions League final proved how much they had changed under Luis Enrique. As a result of spending money on top players like Zlatan Ibrahimović, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé, the club switched to supporting younger players and this method won in 2025. Although PSG began the league phase with four wins and three losses to finish 15th, they played better in the knockout rounds.

In the play-offs, Parisians showed their strength with a 7-0 home win and completely won 10-0 against Brest in both games. In their competition against the English sides, they beat Liverpool in the round of 16 after drawing 1-1 (4-1 on penalties), got past Aston Villa in the quarter-finals with a 5-4 aggregate, and beat Arsenal in the semi-finals by a 3-1 aggregate score. They amazed everyone with their offensive and defensive skills, and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s important saves especially drew attention against Arsenal.
