Bayern Munich Crowned Bundesliga Champions 2024-25: A Triumphant Return to Dominance
Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season and earned their 33rd victory in the league’s history, as well as their 34th overall title in Germany. Thanks to Vincent Kompany’s leadership, the Bavarians scored a remarkable victory, which allowed them to become champions on May 4, 2025, after Bayer Leverkusen and SC Freiburg ended in a 2-2 tie. Winning the title was especially significant, as in the previous season they did not win any trophies and finished third behind Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart.
A Season of Resilience and Firepower
Bayern’s season started with a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg, after which they were the leaders of the table from Matchday 3. Even though important players Davies and Neuer were injured, and Bayern lost in the Champions League quarter-finals to Inter Milan, the team did well due to its strong squad. Harry Kane, who won a trophy for the first time, scored 24 goals, while Michael Olise and Leroy Sané also impressed, getting 23 more goals together. Their impressive offense with 99 goals and a strong defense allowing only 32 gave an overview of the team’s skills.
One of the key games was a 5-1 win against RB Leipzig and another strong 0-0 tie at Leverkusen, allowing the team to stay ahead in the league by eight points. A draw at Leipzig and a loss for Leverkusen on Matchday 32 made sure Bayern took the title. Kompany received his first important trophy with this win, and it was Thomas Müller’s 13th Bundesliga title, which he will leave the club after the FIFA Club World Cup.
