YouTube Launches Hype Feature in India to Boost Emerging Creators

Youtube has launched a fascinating new feature, Hype, in India which will help content creators with 500 to half a million subscribers to boost their discoverability.

The tool was released in July 15, 2025, and is intended to assist developing creators to overcome the algorithmic blocks on this platform and reach wider audiences, resolving the issue of discoverability in an extremely competitive digital world.

Hype is a feature that enables people to hype a video by clicking a dedicated button at the bottom of the Like button and only the first week after a video is posted.

Any user is allowed to hype up to three videos per week, and every action adds points to the ranking of a video in the country-wide Top 100 list, which can be found on the Explore tab in Youtube. In order to create an equal ground, YouTube gives the subscribers with lower presence a bonus mark, thus letting a smaller channel has an advantage over a well-established one.

The feature was first tested in Turkey, Taiwan, and Brazil, where it received more than 5 million hypes during the four-week timeframe across 50 000 channels. India is among the most content-rich countries in You Tube, and this effort should result in the expansion of YouTube creators of various languages and genres, especially those whose followership has not been able to grow despite their fanbases.

The Hype option also addresses the major trend on YouTube towards being more authentic, with the firm updating its Partner Programme regulations last year to focus more on original content. This move will bolster India’s dynamic creator economy, where thousands of new channels emerge daily, by giving consistent creators who produce authentic, culturally-rich content a greater chance to be discovered.
