WrestleMania 41 Finishes with Many Records and Titles Made
WWE, WrestleMania 41 is finally wrapped up. The match, which was held on the weekend, had gained attention all over the world, as the show was live-streamed for the first time on Netflix. The 14 matches of the game held in Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas, have created many records and broken a few early ones. The match took place for two days.
On the night 1, 7 matches were featured. Jey Uso broke the record of Gunther being the world heavyweight champion, taking by himself a major title in the world of WWE. The WWE saw a trio match between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk. This trio battle had many unexpected ups and downs and fans rooting for Punk. CM Punk won the match, making WrestleMania 41 Punk's first WWE main event.
This event also created new stars in WWE, as two titles were changed on Saturday. The Intercontinental Championship title was won by Dominik Mysterio, the son of WWE legend Rey Mysterio. Another title that changed was for the team The New Day, consisting of the duo Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. This team won its first WWE title by defeating the popular LA Knight team.
Another remarkable moment of the night was Becky Lynch, one of the most popular women wrestlers, who made a surprise comeback after a year of no action. She came to help the women's tag team with Lyra Valkyria. Many of the fans were brought to happy tears with Lynch’s entry. The duo defeated champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the match.
Previous to this, the fans enjoyed the matches of Jade Cargill winning over Naomi and Tiffany Stratton facing Charlotte Flair in a stiff, hard-hitting contest in the Women’s World Championship.
The second night of the WWE had six matches in total. The highlight of the second night was the fight between John Cena and Cody Rhodes. This was the last match for John Cena in WWE, as he announced that he would retire in 2025. Being a 16-time world champion, Cena has added another winning record to his pre-existing one and thus, creating history. In WrestleMania 14, for the undisputed WWE Championship, John Cena won the match, making him the 17-time World Champion and setting the record.
Randy Orton, who was supposed to play in the WWE, was let out at the final stage of the match, the reasons being his worsening injuries, which needed time to heal. But he openly challenged for a match, which was taken by TNA Champion Joe Hendry, resulting in Randy Orton winning the challenge with his signature move. The Women’s World Championship was won by Iyo Sky by defeating Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. The Sin City Street Fight was won by Drew McIntyre. The WrestleMania 41 ended with new records and creation of history.
