Vikas Purohit Appointed CEO of New Business Ventures at TOI

Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL), the famed publisher of The Times of India, has appointed Vikas Purohit as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of New Business Ventures which is a strategic step towards expanding and strengthening corporate operations.

In this leadership capacity, Purohit shall be responsible for pivoting into new growth opportunities and driving such opportunities while ensuring smooth execution in such matters.

He is responsible for creating cutting-edge, high-potential new venture concepts, developing coherent strategic business plans for their execution, and guiding implementation efforts to establish scalable, sustainable, and profitable ventures, thereby guaranteeing long-term growth and competitiveness in the marketplace.

Purohit brings lots of experience in leadership, business development, and strategic growth to BCCL. Most recently, he was the Director & Head of the Small Business Group (SBG) at Meta India, where he launched several innovative initiatives to support and empower more than 10 million small businesses in the country in their growth and success against tough competition in the market.

Purohit took office as the Chief Executive Officer of Tata Unistore Ltd. before joining the Meta. He was instrumental in giving shape and form to the e-commerce strategy of the company, driving remarkable growth and innovation in digital retailing.

His extensive and various career experiences include senior leadership positions at Amazon Fashion, Reliance Brands, and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail where he has mastered retail, e-commerce, and consumer-centric innovative business models at a company-wide social transformation and sustained growth level.
