Rapper Travis Scott has made an unexpected on-screen appearance in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey, triggering widespread discussion across the film and music industries. 

The reveal came through a newly released television spot that aired during the NFL AFC Championship broadcast, catching audiences off guard and quickly gaining traction online.

In the brief clip, Scott is seen delivering a line related to warfare and strategy, suggesting a speaking role rather than a background cameo.

 He appears alongside principal cast members, indicating that his presence is integrated into the narrative rather than a fleeting appearance. While Nolan has not officially detailed Scott’s role, the footage confirms his involvement in the film.

This casting choice stands out in Nolan’s career, as the director is known for avoiding surprise or novelty casting. Scott’s connection with Nolan, however, is not new. The rapper previously collaborated with the filmmaker on the soundtrack for Tenet in 2020, contributing the song “The Plan.” The Odyssey marks Scott’s first visible acting role under Nolan’s direction.

The film is a large-scale Homer’s epic adaptation, which chronicles the journey of King Odysseus as he attempts to return home after the Trojan War. The project features an ensemble cast led by Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Anne Hathaway as Penelope. The production has been shot entirely using IMAX cameras and is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 17, 2026.
