Tinder Turns Dating Fails into Laughs with 'Dating Scaries'
Halloween is here, and Tinder is tackling the real scares of modern dating with a fun new video series called Dating Scaries.
The three-part campaign pokes fun at common dating problems like ghosting, gaslighting, and confusing “situationships,” using famous Indian TV villains to deliver the message in a lighthearted way.
The videos are made for Gen Z, who often joke about dating struggles online. Each episode stars a well-known “bad guy” from classic Indian TV shows, giving advice with humor while pointing out what not to do in relationships.
In the first episode, Urvashi Dholakia returns as the dramatic Komolika from Kasautii Zindagii Kay to show how gaslighting can mess with someone’s head.
She warns viewers to recognize manipulation early and value honesty instead.

Next, Rajat Bedi, known for his role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, takes on situationships—those unclear relationships with no labels. He jokes that even tigers don’t need tags to be real, but the video ends with a clear message: kindness means being upfront, not keeping things vague.
The final episode features Dilip Tahil tackling ghosting. With his signature flair, he says to cut off contact if someone isn’t worth it—but the real takeaway? Don’t disappear. Communicate instead.
The series is now live on Tinder’s Instagram and other social channels. "With Dating Scaries, our goal is to bring a playful, self-aware lens to modern dating," said Aditi Shorewal, Communications Lead for Tinder India and Korea. "Humour is central to how Gen Z connects with love and relationships. It’s a lighthearted reminder that even when dating feels tough, being honest, self-aware, and communicative makes all the difference. This is our commitment to today’s young dater—to help them have a healthy, safe, and fun dating experience."
