Teen Rapper Param Goes Viral
A plane slices through the sky above a sprawl of tin rooftops as, from the narrow lanes lined with crumbling houses, a young girl steps out. Dressed in a boxy T-shirt reading ‘World Circuit’ and camo cargo pants, she joins a group of local kids and confidently delivers a few razor-sharp lines in punchy Malwa Punjabi.

The song, which has stormed YouTube with over 3 million views in just six days, marks the debut of 19-year-old rapper-singer Paramjeet Kaur, known simply as Param. Hailing from Duneke, a quiet village in Punjab’s Moga district, Param has emerged as a rising star in India’s independent music scene.
That Girl was produced by UK-based Manni Sandhu and released under indie label Collab Creations. It was filmed in Mohali and created entirely outside the traditional music industry system. Interestingly, the track was born in an Airbnb during Sandhu’s recent trip to India—he played a few chords, and Param spontaneously began to build her verses on the spot.
