Tata Play Binge Expands with Prasar Bharati's WAVES OTT Partnership
Tata Play Binge, which is one of the leading OTT platform, has joined hands with Prasar Bharati to introduce WAVES the OTT service of the public broadcaster into its fold.
This partnership, which has been revealed today, strengthens the Tata Play Binge services, to include more than 30 OTT platforms, to fit all the types of Indian viewers with a mix of international and local programming.
WAVES offers an extensive library of Doordarshan hits such as Byomkesh Bakshi and Fauji, regional shows, live programs with more than 35 TV-channels.
This collaboration will be part of Tata Plays Binge business strategy to reach every Indian with OTT content by giving them a single subscription with an easy-to-use interface across numerous devices.
The integration allows subscribers to access WAVES’ unique content, including nostalgic shows and public service programming, seamlessly within Tata Play Binge’s interface.

Pallavi Puri, Chief Commercial and Content Officer at Tata Play, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Tata Play Binge was created to make OTT content more accessible to every Indian, and our partnership with Prasar Bharati is a meaningful step in that direction.”
Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, highlighted the synergy, saying, “WAVES was created to bring public service content into the digital age, making it accessible and engaging for today’s audiences. This partnership strengthens that vision by combining Doordarshan’s credibility with the convenience of a modern streaming platform.”
The inclusion of WAVES is part of the Tata Play Binge building its own portfolio, which already features the big names such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, and ZEE5. The service has flexible plans including the subscription at Rs 199 per month, which can be used by the subscriber to select four OTTs out of 32 and stream it on four devices.

Such a step does not only diversify content options but also strengthens the market presence of Tata Play Binge in the Indian OTT industry, which was experiencing reported financial difficulties in FY25 because losses were reported to have increased to 529 crore.
