Spider-Noir Trailer: Nicolas Cage Debuts Dark Spider-Man on May 27

The official trailer for Spider-Noir has been released, confirming a May 27 premiere and offering a first look at Nicolas Cage in the lead role.

The live-action Spider-Man series will stream globally on Prime Video, following its debut on MGM+ in the United States.

Set in 1930s New York, Spider-Noir follows Ben Reilly, a private investigator who once operated as a masked vigilante known as The Spider.

Unlike traditional Spider-Man stories, the series explores a darker timeline within the Marvel universe, presenting a noir superhero drama rooted in crime and moral conflict.

The newly released Spider-Noir trailer emphasizes shadow-heavy cinematography, period detail, and restrained action over spectacle.

The footage, presented in both black-and-white and colour versions, leans into a distinct 1930s New York setting. Rain-soaked streets, smoky clubs, and hard-boiled narration establish the tone. A revised tagline — “With no power comes no responsibility” — signals a departure from the classic Spider-Man ethos and reinforces the show’s dark Spider-Man adaptation approach.

Cage reprises a version of the character he previously voiced in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, this time portraying a live-action Ben Reilly character navigating unresolved cases and personal regret. The supporting cast includes Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, and Karen Rodriguez as Janet. The trailer also references classic antagonists, positioning the series within a broader Spider-Man streaming series expansion.
