Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office after just six days in theatres, with the studio confirming the milestone on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The achievement makes it the second-fastest film in box office history to reach the billion-dollar mark.

The film has earned $407 million domestically and $645.8 million internationally, bringing its global total to $1.05 billion, according to studio estimates. On Monday alone, it added $47 million in North America and $120 million overseas, underlining its remarkably strong hold at the box office.

Second-Fastest Film Ever to Cross $1 Billion

Only Avengers: Endgame reached the billion-dollar mark faster, achieving the feat in five days back in April 2019 en route to a final total of $1.22 billion. By comparison, Avengers: Infinity War took 11 days to cross $1 billion in 2018, while Spider-Man: No Way Home needed 12 days in December 2021 - making Brand New Day's six-day run the second-fastest in history.

A Record-Breaking Opening Weekend

Brand New Day opened to $360 million domestically over its first weekend, setting the record for the biggest domestic opening weekend in box office history, surpassing Endgame's previous benchmark of $357.1 million. The film also set records for the highest Thursday preview haul ever, at $74.5 million, and the top single-day domestic total with a $169.8 million opening day.

The film reached $400 million domestically in just four full days plus Thursday previews, making it the fastest movie ever to hit that milestone. It also delivered the highest-grossing Monday in box office history, taking in $46 million and breaking a record previously held by Black Panther.

Where the Film Stands Now

By Tuesday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to overtake Toy Story 5 as the highest-grossing film of 2026 worldwide, and is expected to surpass the Pixar title on domestic charts by Wednesday. The film, which centres on Peter Parker's internal conflict, has drawn strong reviews, holding a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes alongside an A grade from CinemaScore.

Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman told The Hollywood Reporter that the audience response has been the studio's biggest win so far with the release.
