New safety measures have been added to Snapchat, including one much-needed function that is already present on other social networking sites like Instagram. Blocking capabilities, easier location sharing, more comprehensive in-app alerts, and improved friending safeguards are among the recently added features.

New Features on Snapchat

The blocking feature on the social networking site has been improved to better shield users from abuse. Blocking someone on Snapchat will now instantly ban any new friend requests from other accounts made on the same device, according to a new safety feature.

Furthermore, users will not be able make friend requests anyone between the ages of 13 and 17 unless they are mutual friends. According to Gadgets 360, the app would also prohibit friend requests from people in areas that are frequently linked to fraudulent activities. According to Snapchat, a translated version of this service will soon be available in India.

Simplified Location Sharing is another significant safety feature that Snapchat offered. With regular reminders to check their location-sharing settings, this tool gives young users the ability to manage which peers may see their whereabouts on the Snap Map.

Snapchat's in-app warning system will alert users to messages from various areas as part of the safety enhancements, shielding them from dubious people and fraudsters. Furthermore, as reported by Gadgets 360, those who receive messages from persons who have been blocked or reported will also get a warning notice.

New Features on Snapchat: Availability

The Nordic nations, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and portions of Europe will all have access to these features. Snapchat did not, however, provide any information on the launch in India. According to the corporation, these additional security measures may lessen the possibility of offensive information and communications from fraudsters and cyberbullies on the network.

Snapchat's Head of Public Policy for South Asia, Uthara Ganesh, stated: "Snapchat has always been a special place where you can connect with your genuine friends and fully be yourself. Our site is popular among young people in India, and we are committed to keeping it a secure and encouraging environment for all users, including teenagers."

He said, "Our newest safety features are all about supporting genuine friendships, empowering teens to make smart choices and ensuring that every user feels secure and confident while using our app."
