  • Smriti Mandhana returns to No.1 in ICC Women's ODI batting rankings with 727 rating points.
  • She overtakes Laura Wolvaardt (now joint-second at 719) after stellar tri-series century in Colombo.

Smriti Mandhana, India's star opener, has reclaimed her position as the No.1 batter in ODI cricket following the most recent update to the ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings.

Mandhana has risen to the top for the first time since 2019, after South African captain Laura Wolvaardt lost 19 rating points in the ICC's updated rankings.

While Mandhana has recently ranked among the top ten ODI batters, the left-hander has not held the top spot since the beginning of 2019, ending a more than six-year drought.

She recently scored an incredible century in the final of India's tri-series match against South Africa and Sri Lanka in Colombo, demonstrating her excellent form.

Wolvaardt, who scored 27 and 28 in South Africa's most recent ODIs against the West Indies, was surpassed by Mandhana, who achieved his 11th ODI century.

This week's big movers on the ODI batters list include South Africans Tazmin Brits (up five spots to 27th) and Sune Luus (up seven places to 42nd), while Wolvaardt falls to tie for second place with England's Nat Sciver-Brunt.

While teammate Afy Fletcher is the most prominent mover on the updated ODI bowler rankings, West Indies batsmen Shemaine Campbelle (up seven spots to 62nd) and Qiana Joseph (up 12 spots to equal 67th) both advance in the ODI batter rankings.

Fletcher claimed four wickets in the West Indies' most recent match against South Africa at Cave Hill, and the experienced spinner moved up four spots to 19th overall on the list of ODI bowlers, which is still led by England's Sophie Ecclestone.

Nonkululeko Mlaba (up six places to 23rd) and Chloe Tryon (up six spots to 45th) both gain ground on the ODI bowling rankings after strong performances against the West Indies, with Mlaba rising 11 spots to 35th overall on the list of ODI all-rounders following her four-wicket haul in the second match of that series.
