Real Madrid beat Pachuca of Mexico 3-1 in their Group H game at the Bank of America Stadium in the FIFA Club World Cup in spite of playing the majority of the game with ten men. The Spanish giants were resilient as they demonstrated their attacking nature despite the early loss.
The game was marked with a shock when Real Madrid's Raul Asencio was dismissed after seven minutes of play, leaving the club with one man short. Real Madrid recovered and Jude Bellingham scored the first of the match in the 35 th minute, and Arda Guler added the second in the 43rd minute. Federico Valverde finished the match with a good shot in the 70th minute, and he celebrated with Vinicius Junior and Brahim Diaz. Pachuca Montiel scored one back in the 80th minute but it was little to make a comeback.
Salomon Rondon and Robert Kenedy of Pachuca were dangerous and Rondon was a target and Kenedy was troublesome to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. In spite of this, Pachuca failed to make the most of their possession based on the gap in the teamwork, and the defense of Madrid remained unbreachable in spite of the sidelined Antonio Rudiger who returned to the field.
The game ended with another allegedly race-related abuse in second-half added time, as Rudiger claimed he was racially abused by Pachuca captain Gustavo Cabral. Referee Ramon Abatti also triggered the FIFA procedure and a probe is in progress but Cabral dismissed the accusations saying it was a mere clash of cultures.

Manager Xabi Alonso said he was impressed with the mentality of his team and the decisive goal by Bellingham and the match-long effort of Valverde. This victory maintained the five-time champion of the Club World Cup, Real Madrid, in a position to pass the knock-out rounds as their next game will be played against FC Salzburg on June 26. Pachuca, with the loss however, played well and will seek to rise in the last group game.
This victory underscores Real Madrid’s pedigree, even without key players like Kylian Mbappe, sidelined by illness, and others like Endrick and Ferland Mendy, absent due to injuries. The tournament continues to deliver high-stakes drama as both teams fight for advancement.
