Ramayana Trailer Release: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama vs Yash as Ravana

The much-awaited Ramayana trailer releases at Brahma Muhurat, marking one of the most significant releases in Indian cinema this year. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the trailer dropped simultaneously in five languages - Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam - signalling the pan-India scale of the two-part epic.

Ramayana: Part One is set to be released globally on Diwali 2026, with Sony Pictures Distribution securing the worldwide release and Dharma Productions having the rights to distribute in North India.

Star Cast and Story

The Ramayana trailer gives a glimpse of the cosmic battle between Rama, the human form of Lord Vishnu and Ravana, an immortal demon king blessed by the Trinity gods. Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, while pan-India star Yash as Ravana, who is also a co-producer on the project is seen in epic first look of the trailer .

Sai Pallavi, Arun Govil, Shobana, Ajinkya Deo, Kunal Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Ravie Dubey have joined the cast of the ‘Aravinda Seli’ film, which features King Dasharath played by Arun Govil, Sita played by Sai Pallavi, Kaikesi played by Shobana, Sage Vishwamitra played by Ajinkya Deo, Lord Indra played by Kunal Kapoor, Surpanakha played by Rakul Preet Singh and Lakshmana played by Ravie Dubey.

Written by Shridhar Raghavan, it is being composed by two of the most successful collaborations in the history of Indian film, between Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, both of whom won Oscar awards.

Director Nitesh Tiwari said, "Its values are timeless, not its size and every decision, be it related to the performance or visual effects, was made to pay homage to the epic with authenticity and reverence."

Producer Namit Malhotra said, "The project is more than a movie and an attempt to share one of India's greatest cultural heritage with the world using the craftsmanship and technology now available to the Indian filmmakers."
