PVR INOX Posts Record Q2 Earnings of Rs 2,132.7 Crore
PVR INOX, India’s largest cinema exhibitor, has reported record earnings for the September quarter of FY27 and announced plans to return around 30% of its annual surplus cash flow to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks. The company’s board approved a new capital allocation and dividend distribution policy, expanding its earlier dividend-only framework as stronger cash generation improves its capacity to reward investors.
The announcement follows a PVR INOX record quarter supported by strong film releases, higher consumer spending and disciplined cost management. PVR INOX reported net cash of Rs 140.7 crore as of September 30, 2026, even after completing its maiden Rs 300 crore share buyback in September.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 44% to Rs 475.2 crore, while the adjusted EBITDA margin expanded to 22.3% from 18.1% in the year-ago quarter.
Profit after tax from continuing operations more than doubled to Rs 273.3 crore, registering 111% growth.

PVR INOX Shareholder Return Policy Targets 30% of Surplus Cash Flow
Under its new capital allocation policy, PVR INOX plans to distribute approximately 30% of its annual surplus cash flow to shareholders through dividends and/or share buybacks.
The revised framework broadens the company’s earlier approach, which focused only on dividends. The policy comes after the cinema exhibitor completed its first Rs 300 crore share buyback in September and maintained a net-cash position.
The proposed distribution is linked to annual surplus cash flow. The company has not specified a fixed dividend amount or a guaranteed annual payout under the policy, so actual shareholder returns may depend on cash generation and future capital allocation decisions.
