Oreo & BTS Launch Korean-Inspired Cookies for Global Fans

By Media Infotainment Team | Wednesday, 27 May 2026

Snack giant Oreo has teamed up with BTS to launch a global line of limited-edition cookies inspired by Korean flavours, marking the K-pop group’s first worldwide collaboration with a snack brand.

The special edition cookies, developed in partnership with BTS, feature a flavour inspired by hotteok, a sweet Korean brown sugar-filled pancake popular in street food markets.

The collaboration, announced on May 26, reflects the growing global influence of Korean culture and BTS’ massive international fanbase, known as ARMY.

The BTS Oreo collaboration is expected to generate strong excitement among fans worldwide. The cookies will be available online from June 1 and begin arriving in retail stores worldwide from June 8 for a limited period.

Unlike traditional Oreo flavours, this special edition stands out with its purple cookie wafers — a colour strongly linked to BTS and its fans. The crème filling takes inspiration from hotteok, offering sweet brown sugar notes that reflect one of Korea’s most loved street foods. Oreo said the flavour was created to bring together a sense of familiarity and cultural connection, making it a unique Korean flavour cookies experience.

Adding to the excitement, the cookies have also been designed as collectibles for fans. To celebrate BTS’ 13th anniversary, the limited-edition packs feature 13 unique cookie embossments inspired by the group. These include member names, BTS-related symbols and references to the band’s famous light stick, often seen at concerts. Different packs may contain different designs, encouraging fans to collect more than one. The launch is already gaining attention among BTS fans worldwide and collectors of special edition Oreo products.

BTS members — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook — were reportedly involved in shaping the concept behind the collaboration. According to the brand, the idea draws from nostalgic memories, with both hotteok and Oreo cookies being familiar treats from their childhood. The campaign also highlights the rising popularity of K-pop brand collaborations and celebrity-backed products.

Beyond the cookies, Oreo is also launching an interactive digital campaign to connect fans more closely with the group. QR codes on the packaging will allow consumers to access online experiences and leave personalised messages for BTS, adding a fan-focused element to the launch. The Oreo limited edition campaign aims to strengthen engagement with the ARMY community.

The partnership comes at a time when global brands are increasingly embracing Korean culture, fuelled by the worldwide popularity of K-pop, Korean food and entertainment. Limited-edition collaborations linked to pop culture have become increasingly popular, especially among younger consumers searching for BTS merchandise, Korean snack trends, and exclusive brand tie-ups.
