NFL Games to be Produced by Netflix in collaboration with Paramount Owned CBS Sports

Paramount Global (PARA.O), opens a new tab. owned CBS Sports will produce the two National Football League (NFL) games that will air on Netflix (NFLX.O) this Christmas, the video streaming site announced. 

CBS owns the broadcast rights for over-the-air television in the competing cities, while NFL+, the league's live streaming service, will broadcast the games on mobile devices in the US.

The firm said in May of this year that it will stream at least one game on Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 as part of its exclusive three-season agreement with the NFL.

The NFL arrangement marks the first time Netflix has licensed the rights to one of the world's most popular sports leagues, as well as the first live football streaming on the platform.

The NFL is the most-watched sports league in the United States, with this year's Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers attracting a record 123.7 million people.

Paramount Shares Rise

Paramount Global (PARA.O), opens new tab shares jumped as much as 6% in early trade on Friday as investors applauded robust development in the media group's streaming division, despite the fact that the firm, like competitor Warner Bros Discovery, wrote down the value of its television assets.
