New Rising Star Rahmanullah Gurbaz Surpasses Legendary Cricketers

Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a brilliant century on Monday, becoming the second youngest player to hit eight tons in men's One-Day International cricket. His 120-ball 101, alongside a superb 77-ball 70 from Azmatullah Omarzai, guided Afghanistan to a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the third ODI in Sharjah. This win secured a 2-1 series triumph for Afghanistan. At 22 years and 349 days old, Gurbaz now has eight ODI centuries to his name. 

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was 22 years and 357 days old when he scored his 8th ODI century, while superstar Virat Kohli reached the milestone at 23 years and 27 days. Pakistan's Babar Azam was 23 years and 280 days old when he hit his 8th ODI century. South Africa's Quinton de Kock tops this list, having achieved his 8th ODI hundred at just 22 years and 312 days old.

Gurbaz obtained most centuries for Afghanistan in ODIs followed by Mohammad Shahzad(6).

This was the third century for Gurbaz against Bangladesh and third in Sharjah.

Chasing 245 for series triumph, Gurbaz and Omarazi helped their side win against The Tiger in the 49th over.
