New Apple Music Deal Aims to Attract Super Bowl Viewers
Now could be the perfect time for Apple Music holdouts to try it, as the streaming service is offering six months for just $2.99.
New and eligible subscribers have until Feb. 27 to claim the offer. First-time Apple Music users will see the deal when they open the Music app on a compatible iPhone, iPad, or Mac and sign into their iCloud account. If the promo doesn't appear, Apple provides details on its website for redemption. The discounted price comes with a few conditions: it’s not available to current subscribers or those eligible for Apple’s standard 3-month free trial. This appears to be an effort to attract individuals who have never tried a subscription music service or haven't been paying for one.
It's no accident that Apple is rolling out this offer as it prepares to headline the Super Bowl Halftime show with Kendrick Lamar on February 9. In 2023, Apple Music took over the Super Bowl Halftime sponsorship from Pepsi when Rihanna performed. The following year, Usher took the stage, drawing 123 million viewers in the US and making it the most-watched halftime show ever.
Naturally, Apple is leveraging its Halftime show appearance to promote its other services. Apple Maps will showcase highlights from Super Bowl host city New Orleans, while Apple Fitness+ will offer special workout playlists featuring Kendrick Lamar, who just won multiple Grammy Awards last night.
Existing subscribers can also explore Apple Music Replay ‘25. Each month, this feature highlights your most-played songs with a personalized playlist and listening stats, offering a constantly updated version of Spotify Wrapped. You can find it at the bottom of the Home tab in the app.
