Fans of The Wheel of Time are in for a treat! iwot Studios just announced a massive new video game based on Robert Jordan’s iconic 14-book fantasy series. The news, reveals that iwot Games, a brand-new gaming division, is working on an open-world role-playing game (RPG) that aims to bring the beloved universe to life like never before.

This exciting project comes hot on the heels of the success of Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time TV show, which is now in its third season and boasts an 88% score on Rotten Tomatoes. iwot Studios, a major player behind the series, is doubling down on the franchise by expanding into gaming, movies, and more. “We want to cover everything in The Wheel of Time, the books, the backstory, all of it,” said iwot CEO Rick Selvage.

While the game is still in early development and details are scarce, it’s set to be a big-budget RPG where players can explore the rich, detailed world of Jordan’s novels. Think vast landscapes, deep lore, and epic quests. iwot is aiming for a 2028 release on PC and consoles, with a three-year development timeline.

Leading the charge is Craig Alexander, a gaming industry veteran who’s worked with heavyweights like Warner Bros., Activision, and EA. Based in Montreal, his team at iwot Games is focused on creating a top-notch experience that could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other blockbuster fantasy RPGs.

This game is just one piece of iwot’s grand plan for The Wheel of Time. They’re also working on a live-action prequel movie, Age of Legends, and a 3D animated film. As fans eagerly await updates on a possible fourth season of the TV series, this new RPG offers a thrilling way to dive deeper into Jordan’s world, blending storytelling with interactive adventure.
