By Media Infotainment Team | Thursday, 15 January 2026

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes has returned with its second season, expanding the franchise’s darker spin-off storyline with a weekly release schedule on Crunchyroll.

The new season premiered on January 5, 2026, and is set to run for 13 episodes as part of the Winter 2026 anime lineup.

Set several years before the events of My Hero Academia, the series follows Koichi Haimawari and other unlicensed heroes operating outside Japan’s official hero system.

Season 2 continues to explore the consequences of vigilante justice, focusing on street-level crime, underground hero networks, and the limits of law enforcement in a superpowered society. The tone remains grounded and more restrained than the main series, emphasizing moral tension over spectacle.

  • My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 follows a weekly Monday release on Crunchyroll
  • Spin-off anime runs for 13 episodes, concluding in March 2026
  • Season 2 expands the darker vigilante storyline ahead of main series events

Crunchyroll has confirmed that new episodes of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will release weekly on Mondays. Following the premiere, Episode 2 arrived on January 12, with Episode 3 scheduled for January 19. Subsequent episodes will continue on a weekly release schedule, with the season finale expected on March 30, 2026. Release times vary by region but follow Crunchyroll’s standard simulcast schedule.

The platform is also offering a same-day English dub release, ensuring international viewers can access both subtitled and dubbed versions without delay. This approach mirrors Crunchyroll’s broader strategy for major anime franchises and reflects sustained global interest in the My Hero Academia universe.

Season 2 introduces new opening and ending theme songs, replacing those from the previous season. The updated music aligns with the series’ urban setting and more serious narrative direction, reinforcing its identity as a grounded anime spin-off rather than a conventional superhero anime.
