Lola Cars, Warner Bros. Launch Superman-Themed Formula E Collaboration
Lola Cars and Warner Bros. Discovery have announced an active multi-year collaboration where the innovation of motorsport will combine with the legendary Superman franchise to excite fans everywhere.
The partnership begins with Superman-themed Lola T001 livery of Zane Maloney and Lucas di Grassi representing the Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E team, and will run in the Berlin E-Prix during July 12-13. The one-of-a-kind electric racing car is painted in the yellow, blue, and red colors of the superhero, and the iconic titular red ‘S’ shield adorns the chassis of the car, and it will come at the same time as the theatrical release of the Superman movie in DC Studios on July 11, 2025.
Through this joint venture, the two companies, which have a worldwide media footprint and a background in engineering, respectively, are expected to create and release interesting content to the fans of motor sports. Even the drivers will dress up in superheroic race suits with a Superman theme, creating an even greater superhero atmosphere at Tempelhof Airport.

Keith Smout, Lola Cars Chief Commercial Officer, considered stating that the endeavor was a “great milestone” since it has the potential of producing attractive content to both sponsors and the fans between them. Patrick Maitrot, GVP Global Sales Warner Bros. Discovery emphasized the universal positioning of Superman and said that the partnership will be used to enhance the excitement of Formula E and Superman enthusiasts by bringing a series of creative engagements.
In addition to the livery, the partnership consists of collaborations on the aspect of sponsorship opportunities where Warner Bros. Discovery will sell inventory and increase media packages to partners. The campaign is associated with the fact that Warner Bros. Discovery is considered the European broadcast home of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, whose races were broadcast not only on TNT Sports and discovery+ but also on Eurosport and HBO Max.
