JioHotstar Promotes Sameer Tripathy as Director for Growth Segments
JioHotstar has promoted Sameer Tripathy to the role of Director (LCS), expanding his leadership responsibilities across several fast-growing business segments, including e-commerce, quick commerce, jewellery and lifestyle.

Announcing the development on LinkedIn, Sameer Tripathy expressed enthusiasm about his new role and the opportunities ahead. “I'm excited to share that I have been elevated to the role of Director (LCS) at JioHotstar. As part of this new chapter, I will be leading some of the most dynamic and fast-growing categories, including E-commerce, Quick Commerce, Jewellery, and Lifestyle,” he wrote.
The promotion comes after a successful stint at JioHotstar, where Tripathy has spent the past one-and-a-half years driving advertising and revenue growth across key consumer-focused sectors.
Sameer Tripathy joined JioHotstar as an Account Director in January 2025 and was subsequently elevated to Associate Director before taking on his latest leadership role.
In his previous position, he spearheaded digital advertising sales across categories such as e-commerce, jewellery and mobile. He managed a business portfolio exceeding Rs 150 crore and played a key role in driving monetisation through programmatic advertising, sponsorship opportunities and branded content solutions.

Prior to joining JioHotstar, Tripathy spent more than two years at Viacom18 Media, where he served as Senior Manager and Vertical Lead, contributing to business growth and advertiser partnerships across multiple sectors.
Before Viacom18, he was associated with Amazon MX Player for nearly three years, progressing from Manager to Senior Manager while handling strategic advertising and revenue initiatives.
His professional journey also includes stints with The Viral Fever (TVF), ABP News and Eenadu Publication, where he gained extensive experience across digital media, content monetisation and advertising sales. Tripathy holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Marketing from Dhruva College of Management.
The elevation reflects JioHotstar's focus on strengthening leadership across high-growth consumer categories as digital commerce, lifestyle brands and quick-commerce platforms continue to increase their advertising investments on digital and streaming platforms.
