IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans Outclass Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 Wickets

Gujarat Titans won their third consecutive victory by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad with seven wickets during Match 19 of IPL 2025 at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on April 6, 2025. GT secured their third consecutive victory after Mohammed Siraj dominated while Shubman Gill led the team in victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

GT selected bowling first when they won the toss which turned out as a perfect decision. Siraj delivered his best T20 cricket performance to earn a stunning 4/17 as he destroyed SRH's batting line-up. The innings started with Siraj eliminating Head (8) and Sharma (18) as SRH stumbled with a setback. During the second part of SRH's innings Aniket Verma (18) and Simarjeet Singh (0) met their end as Siraj collected his fourth wicket to limit his team's opposition to 152/8 in 20 overs. The combination of Nitish Kumar Reddy (31) and Heinrich Klaasen (27) attempted resistance but Pat Cummins added 22 runs off 9 balls too late to shift the game's outcome on the challenging surface.

Chasing 153, GT’s batsmen took control from the start. Captain Shubman Gill played a captain’s knock, staying not out on 61 off 43 balls, mixing classy shots with smart running to hit a solid fifty. Washington Sundar, playing his first game for GT, smashed 49 and teamed up with Gill to keep things rolling. SRH’s bowlers, led by Mohammed Shami (2/28) and Cummins, grabbed a couple of wickets early, but they couldn’t stop GT’s flow. Sherfane Rutherford finished it off in style, helping GT wrap up the chase in just 16.4 overs with 20 balls left.

Gujarat Titans achieved second position on the IPL 2025 points table after securing their victory as Sunrisers Hyderabad extended their losing streak to four matches. According to Siraj the victory felt great because he was able to perform in front of his hometown supporters during the match which occurred after he had taken some time off. SRH requires nothing short of a miracle to improve their current IPL 2025 performance while GT continues their winning streak.
