IO Interactive Corrects 007 First Light PC Specs After Confusion

By Media Infotainment Team | Monday, 19 January 2026

IO Interactive has revised the official PC hardware requirements for its upcoming James Bond title 007 First Light following confusion caused by inconsistent specifications released earlier.

The studio said the issue stemmed from internal miscommunication, leading to errors that were quickly flagged by PC gamers and hardware analysts.

The original system requirements drew criticism for pairing mismatched components and listing inaccurate hardware details. Among the issues highlighted were unusually high RAM requirements combined with GPUs that could not technically support the stated VRAM specifications.

One specification also referenced an Intel processor model that does not exist, further undermining confidence in the published data.

  • Updated requirements align with standard 16GB RAM and realistic GPU tiers

Following the backlash, IO Interactive issued an updated and clarified set of PC requirements. The revised specifications now align more closely with current industry standards for modern AAA titles targeting 1080p performance. Both minimum and recommended configurations list 16 GB of system RAM, replacing the earlier and higher memory figures that had raised concerns among the community.

The corrected GPU requirements now reflect realistic VRAM capacities and expected performance tiers. Cards such as the GTX 1660 and RTX 3060 Ti are positioned more accurately within the minimum and recommended brackets, giving players clearer guidance on what level of visual fidelity and performance they can expect. CPU listings have also been corrected to remove erroneous or unclear model references.

While the updated specifications have eased some concerns, the initial mistake has prompted discussion around quality control and communication practices at the studio. Players are still awaiting more detailed information on performance scaling, graphical presets, and the impact of DLSS support on different hardware configurations.
