House of the Dragon Season 3 Kicks Off Filming, Aiming for 2026 Premiere
The production of House of the Dragon Season 3 has started its official filming process in British regions after maintaining a long-built anticipation among fans. Sources and social media speculation demonstrate that production has started in East England according to unconfirmed reports.
Several reports confirmed that House of the Dragon Season 3 started filming early this month while production crews completed massive built sets from leaked behind-the-scenes footage. The production of new episodes runs until October 2025 before entering a detailed post-production phase.
Season 3 will deliver intensified and action-packed scenes after the dramatic Season 2 conclusion. Series co-creator Ryan Condal revealed the show will adapt "four major events" from the Fire & Blood literary source by George R.R. Martin. The TV series HOTD will depict two main storylines: the bloody civil war of the Dance of the Dragons between Targaryen factions fighting for the Iron Throne and the Battle Of The Gullet.
A successful production shoot raises the possibility that the series will satisfy its long-awaited return to television in 2026. Fans will welcome back Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen together with Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower. The series will introduce actor James Norton as Ormund Hightower in his first role with a set return date anticipated for 2026.
