HMD Touch 4G: India’s First Hybrid Phone at Rs 3,999

HMD Global has just launched the HMD Touch 4G in India, calling it the country’s first “hybrid phone.” This affordable device combines the simplicity of a classic feature phone with some smartphone perks, like a touchscreen and 4G connectivity.

 Priced at just Rs 3,999, it’s designed for people who want modern tech without breaking the bank. Available in Cyan and Dark Blue, the Touch 4G hits stores with a nostalgic vibe and practical features.

The phone has a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen with tough 2.5D curved glass, making it clear and easy to use. It’s small, measuring 102.3 x 61.85 x 10.85mm and weighing only 100g, so it fits comfortably in your pocket. Powered by a Unisoc T127 chip, it comes with 64MB RAM and 128MB storage, which you can expand up to 32GB with a microSD card.

It supports dual nano-SIMs for 4G LTE and VoLTE calls, plus Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Beidou, and a USB-C port for charging.

For photos, there’s a 2MP rear camera with an LED flash for low-light shots and a 0.3MP front camera for selfies or video calls. Music fans will like the 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio (wired or wireless), and built-in MP3 player. The phone is also splash- and dust-resistant with an IP52 rating, perfect for everyday use.

Running on the simple S30+ Touch OS, the Touch 4G is easy to navigate. It has a special emergency button that calls preset contacts with a quick press. The Cloud Apps Suite adds smartphone-like features, letting you stream videos, check social media, read news, follow cricket scores, or play games like Tetris without needing heavy apps. Plus, the free Express Chat app connects you to friends via text or video calls through a linked Android or iOS device.

The 2,000mAh removable battery lasts up to 30 hours, outshining many budget phones. “The Touch 4G makes 4G and apps accessible in a simple package,” HMD said in a statement.
