Hanuman Ansh Box Office: Rs 200 Crore Milestone on Rs 2 Crore Budget

The Hanuman Ansh box office run has turned into an unexpected blockbuster story, with the devotional drama reportedly entering the ₹200-crore club against a reported production budget of just ₹2 crore. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film has delivered returns of nearly 100 times its reported budget.

Inspired by the teachings and life of spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba, the film has emerged as a major theatrical success despite its relatively low-profile release. Its performance has also put it ahead of bigger releases such as Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan in daily box office collections.

Hanuman Ansh Beats Mirzapur and Haiwaan

Now in its sixth week, Hanuman Ansh recorded its highest single-Friday collection since release, earning ₹10.50 crore on Day 36, according to Sacnilk data cited in the source.

The film reportedly topped Indian theatres on the day, surpassing Mirzapur: The Movie, which collected ₹9.50 crore. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar-starrer crime thriller Haiwaan opened with a reported Rs 3 crore nett collection.

On Day 37, Hanuman Ansh was running across 2,637 shows and had collected Rs 2.25 crore nett, according to Sacnilk.

From Rs 10 Lakh Opening to Rs 200 Crore Milestone

The film's theatrical journey has been particularly notable because of its slow start. Hanuman Ansh opened at just ₹10 lakh on Day 1 and accumulated only Rs 1.48 crore nett during its first two weeks.

However, strong word-of-mouth publicity reportedly began driving audiences to theatres from Day 16. The film subsequently witnessed a sharp rise in collections during its third, fourth and fifth weeks, including a reported ₹61 crore in its fourth week and Rs 90 crore in its fifth week.

Its domestic nett collection has reached Rs 175.88 crore, while its worldwide gross has reportedly touched Rs 207.81 crore ahead of its overseas release.

Hanuman Ansh Becomes a Low-Budget Box Office Success

With a reported budget of Rs 2 crore, the film's performance makes its box office journey particularly significant in terms of return on investment. Its reported earnings have far exceeded the investment, making it one of the most profitable Indian films in percentage-return terms.

The film is inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj Ji. Shobhinaw Satyaa portrays Neem Karoli Baba, while Vihaan Shedge plays Maharaj Ji at another stage of the story.

The cast also includes Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil K Rastogi and Gulshan Pandey in key roles. Hanuman Ansh was released theatrically in India on August 7, 2026.
