Kojima himself introduced a new trailer that gave fans a peek at two new characters: Neil, played by Luca Marinelli, and Lucy, portrayed by Alissa Jung. Their intense moment together, marked by matching scars on their hands, hints at a story full of trust, betrayal, and survival. Kojima teased that Neil’s role carries the same emotional weight as Mads Mikkelsen’s in the first game. Familiar faces like Norman Reedus as Sam, Léa Seydoux as Fragile, and Troy Baker are back, joined by Elle Fanning as Tomorrow, Shioli Kutsuna as Rainy, and George Miller as Tarman, plus a quirky flying cat and a chatty puppet.

Taking place 11 months after the original, the game shifts to new locations in Mexico and Australia, with vast open-world landscapes packed with secrets. Combat takes center stage this time, letting players choose to fight head-on, sneak around, or avoid trouble altogether. The social strand system returns, letting players shape the world together, while new features like building monorails and transporting animals add fresh twists. The subtitle “On the Beach” seems to point to deep, existential themes, possibly tied to the first game’s eerie ending.
