By M&E Team | Tuesday, 25 February 2025

BLACKPINK member Lisa is going to make history as the first K-pop artist to perform at the 97th Academy Awards. The Academy made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), and in addition to this, they announced that rapper Doja Cat and singer RAYE would also perform with her on stage. The Academy posted a short video with the performers.

The caption read, “Three global superstars. One epic #Oscars moment. Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, and RAYE take the stage for a showstopping celebration of cinema. Watch the Oscars LIVE on Sunday, March 2, at 7e/4p on ABC and Hulu, with Conan O’Brien hosting. Expect the unexpected—only at the Oscars."

Lisa will sing her new single, "Born Again," for the show with Doja Cat and RAYE. It will be the song's first live show, which came out on February 7 as part of her new album, "ALTER EGO." Cynthia Erivo of Wicked and Ariana Grande will take the stage as well, with the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

When and where to watch the Oscars this year?

The Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific. It will be available for fans to view at 5:30 AM on Tuesday (March 2). The event will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and will be live-streamed on Hulu for the first time, along with Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV.

There were reports that the Oscars would be canceled as a result of the Los Angeles wildfire that left several families homeless and houses reduced to ashes. But later, the reports were criticized, and the elaborate ceremony is set to occur on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.

In a joint statement, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said, “We are all devastated by the impact of the fires and the profound losses experienced by so many in our community. The Academy has always been a unifying force within the film industry, and we are committed to standing together in the face of hardship."
